AMD had announced that it was stepping away from producing high-end graphics cards because it couldn’t compete with NVIDIA. However, the RX 9000 series was so successful that AMD has decided to return to producing high-end GPUs.

Unlike the other RX 9000 series cards, the AMD RX 9080 XT is expected to use GDDR7 memory instead of GDDR6. Rumored to come with 32 GB of memory, the RX 9080 XT is anticipated to offer the kind of hardware that could appeal not only to gamers but also to content creators and professionals working with artificial intelligence.
With its price, the RX 9080 XT could become the new favorite for users aiming for 4K gaming. The GPU is expected to consume around 450W of power and is anticipated to target NVIDIA’s RTX 5080.
At the moment, information is quite limited, but we don’t think AMD will leave the high-end segment empty. We believe the RX 9080 XT graphics card will be introduced fully adapted to FSR 4 Redstone technology. Hopefully, the RX 9080 XT will arrive soon and increase competition at the high end.
